War Emergency Relief Response, 2026

When the war escalated in 2026, The Great Oven mobilized within days alongside the communities at the heart of our work.

In the Bekaa Valley, we scaled up food production to over 800 meals a day, 500 of which went directly to displaced families. The response was organized and led by the women of our Bekaa community, who drew on existing networks and knowledge built over years of collective work to reach families as they arrived.

In Beirut, we partnered with REMAN Organization, distributing more than 1,000 food parcels and reaching over 1,800 displaced individuals across the city. As in the Bekaa, the response was led from within: by the migrant women who make up REMAN's community, who understood who needed reaching and how.

Across both sites, the relief effort affirmed something central to how we work. In a crisis, the people closest to the need are not the last to respond. They are the first.
